Are you ready to improve your language skills and have fun while doing it? Join our online Korean-English language exchange event and meet other language enthusiasts like yourself!

Hosted by David, a Canadian living in Korea for 8 years, this one-hour event is designed to provide a fun and positive atmosphere for you to practice speaking your target language. With the option to turn on your video or not, you can feel comfortable and at ease.

During the event, you'll be divided into 1 on 1 and 1 on 2 private rooms using Zoom's breakout feature, where you'll have the opportunity to speak English or Korean for 10 minutes at a time, depending on your needs and comfort level. Our matching system ensures that you'll be paired with language partners who have similar abilities to you.

Don't worry if 30 minutes feels like a big ask, you can go at your pace. If you have vocabulary or even the alphabet that you need to practice, your partner is there and the 10 minutes is focused on your needs.

After each 20-minute rotation, we'll come back to the main lobby for a brief 15-second greeting with music to keep the mood light and fun. You'll have new language partners and new topics for each rotation.

To participate, all you need is yourself and a device with Zoom downloaded. Make sure you have a good audio connection, microphone, and quiet background for the best experience.

What do I need to prepare?

Just bring your self! It's a good idea to have zoom downloaded on your desktop or laptop. A mobile device is okay but not preferred. Please have a good audio connection, a good microphone, and a quiet background.

How good does my language ability need to be?

It really doesn't matter. You could be an absolute beginner, or totally fluent. There are designated times for each language, so you get to practice your language at your pace. Having said that, I use a matching system to match language partners with people who have the most similar language as one another.

Why is there a fee to enter?

As an organizer, I need to search for a balanced number of attendees to make the best event. Also, I am not able to continue hosting this event without adding this modest fee to cover my time, energy and zoom premium subscription.
