Description
My name is Torry, and I am someone who truly believes that language is more than just a medium of communication — it is a bridge that connects people, cultures, ideas, and life experiences.
Throughout my life, I have always been deeply curious about international cultures, global communication, and navigating social psychology of people from different cultural backgrounds. This passion has led me to travel extensively around the world, visiting 70 countries across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, the Americas, and beyond. Every journey has taught me something valuable about humanity, openness, and cultural understanding.
French culture has always fascinated me, particularly its modern ideologies, history, philosophy, art, cuisine, and lifestyle. My travels in France deepened this interest even further and I have grown an immense interest for the French language.
Learning a foreign language has been one of the most important parts of my personal growth. Rather than simply visiting famous tourist attractions, I have always enjoyed immersing myself in local cultures, learning customs, and understanding different philosophies in life. Whether I was walking through the streets of Paris, exploring historical towns all over Europe, sharing meals with strangers, or experiencing culture shocks at various moments, I realized that understanding the language and culture is the at the core essence of all these unforgettable life journey.
Because of these experiences, I developed a strong appreciation for language exchange communities. I understand how difficult it can feel to learn a new language, especially when people are afraid of making mistakes or lack confidence in speaking. For this reason, our French Club Seoul is a space to create a comfortable and encouraging environment where people can easily practice French, share stories, and learn from one another without pressure.
In particular, I enjoy meaningful conversations around people’s unique life journeys. I believe everyone has a story worth sharing. I would love to encourage conversations that go beyond textbooks and allow participants to share life experiences in French in a natural and enjoyable way.
