I visited the meetup for the first time in 3 years since I came back to Korea the last time. It seems that the location has been relocated to a new place, which looks more clean and organized. Staffs did the temperature check upon arrival and helped us with check-in. Since it's considered a first time visit, it would have been much appreciated if they could walk me through how it works there. Nevertheless, people were friendly so I was able to get around there and enjoy the meetup yesterday. You can also choose either a complimentary alcohol or two non-alcohol drinks. What was different from the last time was that they have added a new system that swaps groups of table after 1 or 2 hours if I'm not mistaken. I don't know what criteria they applied to swap tables. They probably swapped tables by level of learning language proficiency, which means there are different levels in every table. But this is based on my pure assumption. I would like to revisit next time. Thank you for organizing this meetup.

I participated in this meet-up last Saturday. The meet-up's atmosphere was really good. All people are kind and it was a good time to share various perspectives with each other. I would like to recommend this meet-up to other people who want to practice English in real life.
I found this exchange very enriching, there were Americans and Koreans which allowed me (being French) to improve myself in these two languages which are English and Korean, I would like to reproduce the experience again with pleasure
It was actually beyond my expectations. It was a little bit awkward when attendees rotate, but we eventually had a great conversation in the end. I would like to recommend this online program when someone is so busy and is hesitating to meet people in person given the situation at the moment

여기에 전체적인 리뷰를 남기는 건가요 ? 기쁜 마음으로 리뷰 씁니다 :) 코로나로 적적할때 우연히 알게된 곳인데 기대 이상이에요 ㅎ 외국인튜터와 1:1 아니면 1:2 로 한시간동안 얘기 할수 있는 기회가 많지 않은데 그런 기회가 있다는게 가장 큰 장점이고 다음 수업때 한국인 선생님과 진행하는 회화수업은 커리큘럼이 너무 맘에 들고 실질적 회화에 도움이 될것같아요 , 한국인 선생님은 어떤 영어단어에 쓰임새라 해야하나 이런걸 회화적으로나 문법적으로 이해가도록 잘 알려주세요 :) 1:5 다수이지만 개인과외 받는듯 맞춤식으로 편안한 분위기조성해줘서 금방 적응했어요 :) 호기심에다녔던 한달인데 더 할게요 ^^ 화이팅!

It was so wonderful to be able to interact with people from around the world. I wish to meet them again. I just got frustrated because I haven't practiced Korean language for a long time that I was having trouble with speaking and forgetting vocabularies.
I enjoyed the lessons so I didn't even know that an hour has passed! I wouldn't have had this unique experience without GSM. Of course, there are pros and cons to doing a language-exchange online, but in a situation like pandemic, it's really good way to be able to meet people from all over the world. Overall, I liked it and I might do it again soon! I appreciate GSM's effort!

Para mí anoche fue la primera vez asistir a la reunión. Regresé a Corea de Argentina hace 4 meses. Ayer tuve muy buen tiempo recordando mis amigos en Argentina y Colombia. Hasta pronto. Yesturday, it was my first time going to the meeting. I came back to Korea from Argentina 4 months ago after my missions as a police attache in Argentina for 2 years. Yesturday I had very good time reminding my friends in Argentina and Colombia.

I had a fun time meeting new people. We talked and laughed about so many things. I was kind of nervous in the beginning but everyone made everything so comfortable it felt like I was meeting my long-time friends. Can't wait to join again!

It’s a nice setup to meet people and practice different languages. I really like the idea of switching seats, it helps to meet more people and share cultural thoughts in a broader extent and also makes the setup more exciting. However, somehow the beginners tend to have less chance to involve in a conversation.

Very good! It was my first time ever, everybody was super nice and very talkative, even though I went there alone, I talked a lot and met a lot of people, I just moved to Seoul and I can definitely recommend this! Everybody really comes to the event with an open mind, this is awesome for meeting new people!

I used to go there on Thursday during weekdays before. Even about three weeks ago, there were very few people on Thursday, so I didn't go there for a while! And I started to go there on Thursday again from now! And I could meet new good people, thanks to meet people, I could enjoy my life more there!

I had the best Sunday's meetup yesterday! There were good people and I had really good time with them! Actually, Saturday was really good to have time there too! Usually, I couldn't enjoy much on Sunday than Saturday's meetup! But yesterday, I enjoyed much than Saturday! It was first time in my 1 and a half years experience in the GSM!

월요일에 사람들이 와서 같이 영어로 한국어로 대화할수있다는게 나름 좋았습니다. 개인적으로 좋았던 점은, 주말이면 사람들이 너무 많아서 대화하는게 조금 복잡하고 그렇치만, 주중에 만나서 그런지 조용하고 대화에 집중하기에 좋았어요, 개인적으로 제 바램은 대화할때 너무 신나는 음악보다는 좀더 조용하고 릴렉스한 재즈음악이나 클래식음악으로 해주시면 대화할때 깊이 있는 시간을 보낼수있을거라고 생각합니다 ^^

지난 2주동안 3번 정도 참석했는데요. 학생들과 교재를 가지고 공부했습니다. 근데 주된 질문이 설명하기 어려운 문법문제 관련한 것이었고 이에 명확하게 답을 하기가 어려웠습니다. 사실 한국인이라도 설명하기가 쉽지않다고 생각하는데요. 제가 처음 설명회에 참석했을 때 저희는 선생님이 아닌 트레이너로 학생들이 이미 배운 것을 반복학습하는 데 중점이 있다고 들었습니다. 사실 한시간동안 학생들이 원하는 수준을 만족시키기 어려웠습니다. 이런 부분에 대해서 어떻게 해야할지 설명 부탁드립니다.

The people there are very friendly and open. However since many of them already know each other as a new person joining the group it feels a little awkward at the beginning. Also because you don’t know where to sit. But I think you just have to sit anywhere and try to join the conversation. As soon as you speak with the others it’s very fun. Also because you hangout together after the Pub Party.

It was amazing meetup on today that I able to meet person from different cultural backgrounds and ethnicity again. Russian people are rarely coming to GSM under my observation. But it was nice experience to practice another languages with non English speaker in GSM. ?
I like to come here, GSM. I can feel more free and meet lots of people from various nationalities and divers cultural backgrounds. It is so fun to have conversation and share ideas with people. Last time I was there. I saw other meetups going on in the lounge such as economy invests and Spain language learning. I can see the this club is growing which is nice to see too.
It was such an unforgettable experience.Here your get a lot of enthusiastic friends to talk to.You will not feel alone here.The atmosphere is quite good for enjoy chatting and studying.Strongly recommended!

It is always enjoyable and feel happy to join the meetup on Sunday. Staffa are friendly and a variety of good foods always waiting for us. Thank you for your hard work during the corona virus time.
I have a suggestion to improve (1) The talking menu provided and it is useful if it is less crowded. if more crowded and noisy (on weekend), it is better to encourage playing some type of table games by having 2 teams/table. (2) Announcement while switching the table is not loud enough, also need a clear announcement to play games as said above or continue discussion topics on the menu. (3) Some guys stick with the same table and not switching tables, which need to be monitored or encouraged if point 1 above followed.

비록 요즘 상황은 안 좋지만 그래도 소수의 인원끼리 서로 영어를 연습하며 서로 외롭지 않고 즐거운 시간을 보낼 수 있어서 참 좋았습니다. 요즘 상황이 안좋은 만큼 좀 더 안전하게 이용하기 위해 입장시 다른 곳처럼 열체크 기계로 회원들 체크 후 입장하는 것도 한번 고려해 보시면 저희가 좀 더 안전하게 사용할 수 있지 않을까 봅니다! 그래도 클린존으로 지정되어서 참 다행이라고 느꼈습니다! 감사합니다!

This is a great program that help people practice talking their thoughts in English online. It is not secure to meet lots of people given the situation these days. So if you want a more safe tool for a communication, this meet- up will be useful. Highly recommended!!

I have been going to this investment club since very first event in Feb 2020. It's a great meetup where you can learn about the current global economy, good stocks to invest, and other investment-related issues. Not only learning about these but also, you can have a chance to practice and improve your presentation skills in English in front of members. Always good discussions, great people! I highly recommend it!

This was my first language exchange! Karo led our group. It was wonderful to make new friends in a language we're all learning. We all had different fluency levels, but Karo was very patient and walked us all through the conversation. I'll definitely be going back to practice more!

주제를 가지고 자유롭게 얘기할수 있어서 좋았어요. 하지만 소그룹에서의 이야기를 끌어갈 수 있는 리더가 필요할것 같고 대화시간이 짧기때문에 5인 이상보다는 3-4인이 적당하다고 생각합니다 :) 코로나때문에 단체 모임이 꺼려지는 시기에 온라인모임을 할 수 있는 기회가 생겨 좋았습니다.
처음에는 어색했는데 호스트가 너무 잘 이끌어주고 새로운 친구들 만나는게 재밌었어요 ~ 계속 하고 싶어지네요^^

I loved it, my tutor was really good and kind and a lots of fun! I get to choose how I want to learn, and I chose to use conversation so my tutor could correct me while we converse, so I had a lot of fun and learned a lot! I can only recommend people to do this, if they want to learn Korean.

Was very enjoyable to improve my Korean with help from Yeji who was tutoring me. She is a very relaxed and humorous tutor who has a lot of interest in tutoring, hence being able to provide adequate information on Korean grammar, phrases, culture, and more. Sometimes she joins the other tables after the tutoring lesson, so you can try using the new Korean knowledge during the table rotations and she can help out.

Even two weeks ago, I heard there were just few people attended. But yesterday, there were quite a lot! I never expected that! So, I could enjoy enough there yesterday...

She was very kind. Especially, when she took care of a lot of people’s practice. It was very impressive for me. Because of her clear pronunciation when speaking Japanese, she would be help for people who is learning Japanese in different range of level including beginners.

I went there to support Irene and learn more. Many came more than I expected. I was glad she is doing good. She tried to speak with enthusiasm n she looked happy. I'll join sometimes. But my work finish at 7 on Mondays. So I arrived pretty late but I enjoyed a lot with her enthusiastic spirit. People there were pretty nice too
The evening was pretty good. Nothing too unusual. Nice people. Interesting stories.

It was nice meeting friends I met. We have chance to become good friends. But yesterday after 2 o'clock I noticed one handsome guy surrounded by many Korean ladies. It's natural but it would be better if they spread out more evenly. That table was too packed.

It was really great to join this group. The host delightfully gives a warm welcome to all the guests and helps them with her best. She speaks Chinese, Korean, and English fluently so anyone could join this group without hesitation. I learned lots of new expression of speaking Mandarin, cultural differences between Korea and China, and met nice people from all around the world. I have been here for more than twenty times and feel it's getting better and better. It's a great deal to have a regular host to do a language exchange. Try to join it, you will definitely love it.

It's always good to make new friends and get the bargain that is Global Seoul Mates. My recommendation would be that you have maybe something like board game tables? Often people are nervous around new people and a quick 5 minute board game would be a lot of fun.
정말 외국어 초보자 이지만 행복한 하루였습니다. 좀더 연습하고 많이 배워야겠어요.
코로나 사태가 다시 안 좋게 흘러가서 그런지 토요일인데도 그리 많은 사람이 오지는 않았습니다. 특히 외국인이 더 적었던 것 같습니다. 제가 앉은 테이블은 한국인밖에 없었지만 언어교환에 오랫동안 참여한 사람들이 제법 있어 자연스럽게 영어로 대화하는 분위기를 만들어주었고, 편안하게 말을 나눌 수 있도록 이끌어주었습니다. 한국인들과 영어로 대화하는 것은 말이 너무 빠르지도 않고 대부분 우리가 알아들을 수 있는 어휘를 사용하기 때문에 영어에 접근하기가 더 쉬운 것 같습니다. 거리낌 없이 영어로 대화할 수 있어서 좋았습니다.
영어 쓸수있고 좋았어요 음료도 퀄리티좋고 두잔이나 주시니 가격대비 정말괜찮아요
제가 앉은 테이블엔 한국인 비율이 더 컸는데(5:1 정도) 분위기 자체가 자연스럽게 영어로 대화할 수 있는 분위기였고 다들 영어를 사용할 수 있는 공간을 찾아 온 것이다 보니 그런 노력을 해서, 한국인끼리 영어로 대화하는 데에 거리낌이 없었습니다. 또, 자리에 함께 한 외국인을 위해 한국어로 대화를 하기도 하는 등 적절한 언어교환이 이루어 진 것 같아 좋았습니다.
처음 갔는데 자유로운 분위기에서 편하게 말할수 있어서 좋았어요 미국에서 온지 얼마 안되서 영어를 쓰고싶었는데 기회가 없어서 스터디 가게 되었어요 근데 자주 참여하면 영어 스터디에 도움 될거 같아요! 앞으로 종종 참여하겠습니다

처음으로 가보는 일본어 밋업 자리여서 익숙치 않고 많이 어색했지만 친절하게 말 걸어주시는 카논상 덕분에 즐거웠습니다. 다만 인원이 너무 많은데 한 자리에 모아놓다 보니 테이블도 엄청나게 길어져서 소통이 너무 불편했습니다.

Yesterday was really good! I really enjoyed yesterday's meet up! Thesedays, there are many people come to GSM and I can have more chance to meet good people and meet new friends as well! I met new friend yesterday, and we had good talk and we already had a plan to come to the GSM for Saturday as well! For many reasons, I can feel more happy to come to the GSM than before :)

3월 28일에 대한 리뷰를 이제야 적습니다. 그날 진짜 오랜만에 다시 나온 토요일 오후 3시타임 GSM 이었습니다. 그날 인원은 약 10명 정도 였고 저희는 소수끼리 더욱 뭉쳐서 저녁식사도 함께 하는 등 정말 좋은 시간 보냈습니다. GSM도 클린존 이라는 펫말이 걸린 것을 보고 다행이라고 생각을 했습니다. 앞으로도 지금처럼 방역에도 계속 힘써주시고 입장 시 회원들 열체크와 건강 유무 체크하는 표를 이용해서 필터를 추가하시면 좋지 않은 시국에도 저희 회원들은 걱정 없이 끈끈한 관계를 유지할 수 있을 것 같습니다. 감사합니다!
